Position Location

Salary
$45K - $55K
Responsibilities

· To audit, supervise, & organize the valuation process.
· To prepare valuations for managed and advisory portfolios within strict deadlines to AIMR & CFA Institute Standards.
· To conduct periodic reconciliation of clients’ positions with custodians.
· To create reports including complex graphical reports.
· To improve reporting accuracy and workflow efficiency.
· To hire, train, and supervise Portfolio Accountants.
· To create and amend procedure manuals.
· To assist in other operational functions as required.

Specific accountabilities:

Valuation Process - The primary job responsibility is the production of Portfolio Valuations in a timely manner.

Project Leadership - You will follow effective project management practices and methods to assist in defining, planning, monitoring and providing successful closure for internal projects (i.e. - pension product, in-house pool fund, PORTIA implementation). You are responsible for defining your own project scope, milestones and deliverables to successful completion of all project phases. Quality management throughout the entire project phases is critical to this role.


For the PORTIA integration project, Portfolio Management Services and Operations will define the roles and skills required for the projects and work across the organization to form the cross - functional team. You will define the User Acceptance Test (UAT) and will ensure that team members get the training, mentoring, and skill building necessary to effectively work on the team. You will promote a team environment and encourage team behaviors, working interdependently towards the project goals. You will be responsible for recruiting and training Bermudians.

Communication to Stakeholders - You will assist to develop communication plans and share with all having a vested interest in the projects. You will provide ongoing communication of project status, changes, issues, risks and metrics to all stakeholders.

Risk Management and Contingency Planning - You will identify and assess the impact and probability of risk through out the project life cycle. You will develop risk management strategies to minimize risk factors, and develop contingency plans to manage risks should they occur. You will continuously monitor and manage the risks throughout the life cycle of the project.
Requirements
· A degree in finance, economics or accounting together with two years experience in valuation accounting or;
· An investment qualification (i.e., Series 7, Canadian Securities Course or higher) together with two years experience in valuation accounting.
· Two years of supervisory experience.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office especially MS Excel.
· Thorough understanding of various security types and their properties.
· Thorough understanding of portfolio management software including concepts such as security master file, transaction file & currency tables.
· Knowledge of PORTIA, Goldmine, Crystal Reports and relational databases is a plus.
