About our client
Our client is a billion dollar financial services institution.
Position Location
Business Systems Analyst Downtown, Toronto
Salary
$55K - $62K Base
Responsibilities
1) Coordinate detailed business requirement phases identifying, tracking and resolving business systems issues.
2) Assess, research, analyze and document sponsor/stakeholder needs in accordance with Project Life Cycle and CMM deliverables selecting appropriate information gathering and/or modeling techniques to solve problems.
3) Recommend business solutions that satisfy sponsor/stakeholder needs, continually exploring and assessing options for value-add for clients.
4) Ensure successful completion of project objectives within budget, on time and as per Project Office methodology.
5) Direct preparation of appropriate documentation and ensure adequate end-user training for assigned projects. Oversee planning & testing
6) Develop high level plans for completion of Requirements and Acceptance phases of projects, improving in the level of detail and accuracy of estimates over time.
7) Develop and execute testing including coordinating system and acceptance testing. Handle relationships and communication
8) Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders and business partners using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.
9) Facilitate small to medium size group meetings and conduct small cross-functional interviews.
10) Prepare and deliver presentations to business partners.
11) Resolve minor conflicts/issues and escalate others as appropriate. Handle development and coaching
12) Provide expertise, training and direction to more junior staff.
13) Continually enhance skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization, business and information systems.

  • Solid understanding of the business functions and relevant core processes for mutual funds trading as well as the Fundserve interface to fund companies
  • Investment industry knowledge and experience a definite asset – Canadian Securities Course is a definite asset

  • Knowledge of BU specific strategies & critical success factors
  • Good knowledge of business specification writing and requirements methods: interviewing, data modeling, business process modeling, business object modeling and user interface design
  • Quality Controls

    Systems Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of Fundserve
  • Proficient with personal computer productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, MS Project and technical design tools including Visio
  • IT Standards, Methodologies, CMM & audit requirements
