Position Location
Group Financial Controller/Business Manager Bermuda
Responsibilities
1) Supervise day-to-day business objectives of the firm
2) Establish and maintain reporting and accounting procedures for various hold and operating companies
3) Direct and supervise the group’s accounting principles, practices and procedures
4) Maintain fiscal records and prepare financial reports (internal and external)
5) Appraise operating results in terms of costs, budgets, operating policies, trends and increased profit opportunities
6) Direct general and property accounting, cost accounting and budgetary control
7) Manage the audit process as well as interface with the various regulatory agencies
8) Perform executive-level duties involving a complex financial and managerial accounting and budgeting system
9) Supervise accountants and/or support individuals that he or she will hire
10) Plan, direct, oversee and coordinate all business activities of the group to obtain optimum efficiency while minimizing risk and maximizing profits
11) Operate consistently on a cost-effective basis within the framework of policies, objectives and budgets of the group that he or she will establish
12) Assist with the development of long-term plans and strategies for the group
13) Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers
Requirements
1) CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent or any other internationally recognized accounting designation
2) Minimum 5 years of experience in a controller role in the financial industry
3) In-depth knowledge of the accounting treatment of all types of financial instruments and IAS
4) Strong experience in complying with the regulatory environment in the financial industry
5) Superb IT skills – MS Office suite and Great Plains software
6) Strong work ethics with the maturity, ability and commitment to meet tight deadlines to achieve company goals
7) Extensive communication skills – both written and verbal
8) Strong presentation skills and an ability to interface with the senior management within and outside the firm.
9) Self-motivated with an ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
