Head of Financial Reporting
Responsibilities
1) Manage the internal and external reporting of
consolidated statements of income under CDN GAAP
2) Handle the process of US GAAP Reconciliation for note disclosure
3) Manage and monitor the control process and procedures to support the accurate
and timely production of consolidated statements of income and other financial
reports
4) Manage the process of proper preparation of consolidation elimination and P&L
closing entries
5) Ensure all internal and external reporting requirements for the consolidated
income statements under CDN GAAP are completed accurately, timely and
efficiently
6) Review and approve head office consolidation elimination entries
7) Ensure Income Statements under US GAAP are prepared accurately and timely for

8) Review and analyse Other Comprehensive Income (OCI)
9) Work with business units to ensure proper entries are booked when there is
release of OCI to P&L.
10) Prepare AOCI statement
11) Work with platforms and Accounting Policy Group to resolve Income Statements
related issues
12) Operate with an innovative and creative mindset within the head office
reporting function in a manner that emphasizes continual process improvements in
every reporting process
13) Ensure that all mapping issues specifically surrounding the Income
Statements are addressed and necessary actions taken
14) Handle group’s compliance of all SOX requirements
15) Actively coach and manage staff
16) Ensure that employees understand vision, as well as support and reinforce
targeted behaviours that contribute to clients’ goals
17) Provide focus and clarity in establishing individual goals, driving
performance management, supporting career development and rewarding strong
performance.
18) Leverage the value in unit, department, and enterprise-wide teams to develop
better solutions and achieve a cross enterprise mindset
19) Execute change while supporting employees through the process and keeping
them focused on business priorities
Requirements
1) CA
2) Strong finance/accounting background
3) Senior financial reporting experience in financial institutions
4) Extensive CDN and US GAAP knowledge
5) Excellent analytical and communication skills
6) Ability to work in a team environment
