About our client
Our client is one of the largest property management/real estate services firm in the world.
Position Location
Senior Property Accountant Downtown, Toronto
Salary
$55K - $65k
Responsibilities
1) Assume primary responsibility for all financial reporting for assigned properties
2) Prepare financial statements, cash flow reports, annual property budgets, and monthly/quarterly financial reports accurately and on a timely basis
3) Liaise with property manager and accounting staff to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of monthly rent rolls and other charges to tenants
4) Prepare annual year-end audit working papers and liase with external auditors to ensure an efficient and effective audit process
5) Undertake ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned
6) Prepare monthly reconciliation of bank, GST, and other accounts as well as reconciliation of accounts receivable and payable sub ledgers
7) Liase with other departments (operations/loading dock/tenant services)
8) Prepare monthly funding requests from, or cash distributions to owners
9) Calculate and process adjustment billings to tenants
10) Prepare annual cost of operation and realty tax cost files
Requirements
1) Professional accounting qualification (CGA/CMA), or program enrolment (preferred)
2) Minimum 5 years of property accounting experience
3) Experience in preparing financial statements and working papers
4) Strong analytical skills
5) Ability to work independently
6) Advanced Excel & Word computer skills
7) Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
8) Good communication skills – both verbal and written
