About our client
Our client is an investment management and advisory group.
Position Location
Assistant Manager, Portfolio Management Services Bermuda
Salary
$65K - $75K USD Tax Free
Responsibilities
1) Prepare investment reports, valuations, and statements within fixed deadlines in a timely manner
2) Work closely with Portfolio Management Group to structure, design, and prepare portfolio management reports and analytics
3) Ensure accuracy of daily transaction imports
4) Confirm market prices of equities, bonds and derivatives through analytical research
5) Maintain an inventory of all holdings to create a current pricing file within the established departmental guidelines
6) Manage/oversee tasks related to auditing performance measurement calculations, client valuations, and other reports as needed
7) Verify systems integrity to identify process risks, control weakness, inefficient procedures and to redesign, implement and execute efficient and controlled operations
8) Seek opportunities to contribute to application system and/or business process improvements
9) Manage Operations Department in the absence of the Senior Operations Manager
Requirements
1) Degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred
2) Internationally recognized qualifications such as Series 7, Canadian Securities Course, Conduct and Practices Handbook, CFA level 1 and/or working towards an accounting designation
3) Minimum 3 years of experience in investment portfolio management software, including concepts such as security master file, transaction file and currency tables
4) Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the investment industry, including training and supervising staff
5) Proven experience in investment performance measurement, including performance attribution and NAV calculations
6) Knowledge of SQL and relational databases and experience as a systems super-user a definite plus
7) Thorough understanding of various security types and its properties
8) Proven organizational and time management skills necessary for crucial deadlines
9) Excellent PC skills, specifically: knowledge of Portia, Goldmine and Crystal Reports
10) Superior attention to detail with a strong emphasis on accuracy
