Position Location
Senior Manager, Specialist Advisory Services – Business Risk And Advisory Services Toronto, Ontario
Salary Reports to
$150K - $170K Base Business Risk and Advisory Services – Service Line Leader
Responsibilities
1) Plan, manage and execute all phases of projects and engagements for multiple clients in varied industries
2) Make significant contributions to the group through client and practice management, and business development
3) Play a key role in developing methodologies, facilitating improved practice within business units
4) Lead new business development by understanding, identifying, and qualifying sales opportunities and closing sales
5) Identify opportunities to partner with other practice areas to deliver cross-functional services to clients
6) Assist clients in addressing exposure from the perspective of financial risk – foreign exchange, interest rates, currency movements, commodity price fluctuations, hedging strategies – through derivative and non-derivative financial instruments
7) Provide expertise in assessing and implementing methodologies for quantifying, analyzing, testing and reporting of financial risk
8) Educate clients by providing tools and solutions to detect financial risk in the organization
9) Oversee Finance Department strategy and planning
10) Improve financial processes
11) Conduct operational improvement of supply chain
12) Consolidate or refine internal services – finance, human resources, treasury
13) Play a leadership role in the business unit, service line, community and firm by actively contributing to the development and execution of the office business plan
14) Plan engagement objectives and a business strategy that complies with firm standards
15) Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients and gain an understanding of client’s industry and issues
16) Participate in the coaching and performance management process of the practice by conducting timely performance reviews
17) Provide ongoing feedback and training, develop junior team members, and promote teamwork within and across service lines
18) Work with National SAS practice teams in terms of practice direction and leadership
Requirements
1) Post graduate degree or designation (CA, CGA, CMA or equivalent)
2) 8-10 years experience, with a minimum 3 years of management experience in a professional services firm focused on business risk services
3) Demonstrated ability to probe, analyze and problem solve complex issues
4) Sound project management, selling, presentation and negotiation skills
5) Ability to influence others and garner the respect of both staff and partners within the service line
6) Excellent written and verbal communication skills
7) Demonstrated experience in practice development, business development, and managing other managers
8) Demonstrated prioritization, organization, time management, planning and follow-up skills
9) Ability to work in a constantly changing environment, as well as consistently achieve quality standards
10) Team player with an ability to rally resources and work with others to meet the needs of the client
11) Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
12) Strong interest in coaching and developing staff, as well as a commitment to personal growth and development
13) Possess strong technical and communication skills combined with self-confidence and the ability to represent the firm in challenging circumstances.
