| Responsibilities |
1) Manage all taxation compliance and planning 2) Review new tax legislation/requirements and determine its impact on the Group ensuring that it is implemented appropriately with proper planning 3) Complete accounting requirements related to taxation for reviewing by Chief Accountant 4) Coordinate any income or commodity tax audits 5) Develop tax-planning scenarios in conjunction with Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accountant 6) Analyze and provide advice to executive management for all tax implications and planning opportunities related to major transactions 7) Act as a consultant to other departments for taxation decisions 8) Review and file all bank, CWT, valiant, and company’s financial income, capital and commodity tax returns 9) Act as a member of the CBA Taxation Committee and committees regarding regulatory reporting 10) Supervise and develop the departmental staff (as appropriate) 11) Provide bank representation within the business community through participation and membership in professional institutes and not-for-profit organizations |
| Requirements |
1) Post-graduate business-oriented degree and/or a formal accounting designation 2) CICA certified 3) Financial institution experience a plus 4) Experience in a mid- to large-sized service-oriented organization (regulatory and/or public environment preferred) 5) Superb analytical, organizational, and communication skills 6) Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail 7) Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines 8) Knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint 9) Highly energetic, team-oriented individual with a positive attitude |
