Position Location Senior Financial and Tax Accountant Toronto Salary Reports to $90K – 105K Base plus Bonus Manager, Finance Responsibilities 1) Handle the divisional consolidated financial and tax accounting functions for the company's Canadian division 2) Work on a strict timetable to produce reliable and accurate reporting 3) Support and guide site in financial accounting and taxation matters 4) Oversee and coordinate divisional consolidated financial accounting, systems, reporting, budgeting, estimating and analysis 5) Ensure effective inter-company accounting processes 6) Manage and coordinate tax accounting, reporting and consolidation for the division 7) Conduct exploration and work on closed sites' general ledger and financial management 8) Coordinate cash and working capital for the division 9) Coach, lead and develop team members in their technical and professional development 10) Coordinate and consolidate statutory reporting requirements and packs to management and auditors 11) Ensure that progressive, sustainable improvements within the department are consistent with business objectives and health, safety, environmental and community policies Requirements 1) Accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA) along with a university degree in Business combined with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience 2) Demonstrated experience with Excel and other MS Office products 3) Previous experience in working with Mincom Ellipse and Hyperion systems an advantage 4) Experience in the mining/minerals processing industries would be highly preferred 5) Strong leadership and team-building skills 6) Excellent communication skills at all levels of the business
