About our client
Our client is a public property management firm.
Position Location
Senior Corporate Accountant Toronto (Downtown), Ontario
Salary Reports to
$65K – $75K Corporate Accounting Manager
Responsibilities
1) Prepare and maintain accounting records, which include general accounting or budget data
2) Examine, analyze and interpret accounting records for the purpose of preparing financial reports for the Corporate Accounting Division
3) Coordinate Visa payments and document Visa expenses not entered through Accounts Payable
4) Prepare and make journal entries regarding bank transactions, accruals, prepaids, reclasses, interest calculations, monthly reclasses, etc.
5) Maintain journal entry and month-end checklists
6) Handle corporate bank reconciliations
7) Prepare YEC monthly entries
8) Handle fixed asset reconciliations and make depreciation calculations
9) Prepare monthly consolidation reports and reconcile to the AS400
10) Perform reconciliation of inter-company accounts
11) Prepare consolidated quarterly schedules (current vs. last year – percentage over percentage change) for auditors
12) Create notes to the financial statements (quarterly and annually)
13) Prepare certain schedules to lenders
14) Maintain and calculate all capital transaction schedules (EPS, NCIB, etc.)
15) Prepare monthly account analysis for certain corporate accounts
16) Enter and code overflow of corporate accounts payable
17) Prepare other schedules (as needed) for management
18) Make interest accrual calculations regarding bank loans and calculate standby fees
19) Prepare consolidated budget numbers
20) Maintain bank loan schedules
21) Prepare other schedules (as needed) for quarterly and annual financial statements, management discussion and analysis
22) Review and approve coding of A/P invoices
Requirements
1) Accounting Degree
2) Minimum 3 years of similar accounting experience
3) In-depth knowledge of MS Excel
4) Expertise in AS400 an asset
5) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
6) Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
7) Ability to work under tight deadlines as well as multi-task and prioritize
8) Willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines as required (may involve weekends/evenings)
