| Responsibilities |
1) Apply extensive experience and expertise in leading and mentoring a great team of associates 2) Manage all current management effectively 3) Play a significant role in the identification and delivery of program redesign initiatives, from concept and strategy through to design and implementation 4) Manage salaried and hourly compensation and benefits programs across all Canadian operations (supporting approximately 25,000 associates) 5) Serve as part of the Total Compensation Management Team and influence the future design direction for compensation and benefit programs for the company 6) Monitor and manage the plan design and financial operations of all compensation, benefits and retirement programs to ensure legislative compliance and alignment with company strategies and objectives 7) Handle selection, mentoring, and performance management of the Compensation and Benefits Team 8) Define and support development plans as well as provide direct mentoring and training to the team 9) Partner with HR generalists and business leaders to monitor the effectiveness of programs as well as to ensure programs continue to meet the needs of the business 10) Lead the design and redesign of compensation and benefit/retirement programs and/or processes (as required) 11) Develop and communicate programs, policies, and procedures across the organization 12) Manage sourcing, contracting, and ongoing relationships with external vendors (benefit carriers, third party consultants and legislative bodies) 13) Maintain relationships with the external market to ensure ongoing awareness of emerging legislation and market practices |
| Requirements |
1) Degree (4 year) 2) 7 – 10 years of related work experience 3) Successful track record in engaging, motivating and developing others 4) In-depth knowledge of compensation, benefits, and retirement programs 5) Design expertise in compensation programs preferred 6) Experience in successfully managing many projects from concept to implementation 7) Excellent analytical skills 8) Superb organizational and project management skills to effectively manage multiple projects and objectives 9) Ability to combine an understanding of business needs with program design and development concepts as well as apply this knowledge to influence and reach compensation and benefit program design decisions 10) Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment 11) Bilingual in English and French an asset 12) Well-organized as well as detail and result-oriented |
