About our client
Our client is a property management firm.
Position Location
Financial Analyst Toronto, Ontario
Salary Reports to
$80K – $85K Director, Accounting and Reporting
Responsibilities
1) Handle reporting and day-to-day administration
2) Assist accounting teams of properties with their questions relating to any differences in the contribution/distribution accounts
3) Foster an open communication work style with groups
4) Assist with management and investor reporting
5) Review and analyze property reports as well as provide highlights and commentary to management
6) Assist with lender reporting (as required)
7) Provide guidance/directions to third party property management companies on the basis of company accounting policies
8) Assist with tax reporting (reports as required for filing of Canadian and US tax returns for funds/investors)
9) Work closely with the Finance, Treasury, and Tax Groups within Asset Management
10) Assist external consultants with corporate tax-related issues and filings
11) Handle initial accounting set up of property acquisitions (including property level debt)
12) Prepare (as required) legal entity financial statements for all company entities for tax, lender reporting or any other purposes
13) Handle accounting for disposition of assets
14) Assist with transactions, purchase, sale, refinancing, etc. and prepare/review closing statements
15) Oversee administration of cross border transfer pricing agreements
16) Handle fund administration (capital calls, distribution notices, etc.)
17) Assist with budget and reforecast processes (as required)
18) Prepare information for tax reporting and planning (including related accounting transfers entry)
19) Assist with property and fund-level internal and external audits
20) Perform other projects and duties as required
Requirements
1) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2) CA certification
3) Proficient in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of other MS Office tools
4) Excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills
5) Superb communication skills (written and verbal)
6) Good organizational skills
7) Ability to self-motivate and be proactive (both with respect to managing workload and own professional development)
8) Ability to handle large volumes of work
9) Ability to work independent of direct supervision and also in teams with others
10) Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
11) Team player
