| Responsibilities |
1) Handle all services rendered to clients in the functional areas of accounting, auditing, taxes, or management advisory services 2) Review and sign off on accountant/auditor reports as well as tax returns 3) Participate in the administration of the personnel function as it relates to acquisition, training, retention, and utilization of Accounting staff 4) Recruit/assign individuals to recruit students at selected colleges and universities 5) Interview and extend initial offers of employment to potential accounting staff employees 6) Review and evaluate Accounting staff personnel for purposes of promotion and salary adjustment as well as release employees who are not to be retained 7) Maintain required technical competence through professional literature, financial publications, and attendance at professional development seminars 8) Develop new business through expanding services rendered to existing clients, pursuing contact with prospective clients, and maintaining contacts with bankers, attorneys, investment bankers, etc. 9) Participate in establishing an annual Training Program for the professional staff and develops specific programs for various levels of the Accounting staff 10) Monitor training programs established and administered by the Management Consulting Services and Tax Departments for their respective professional staff 11) Emphasize continuity in the assigning of accounting staff to specific assignments 12) Counsel the Accounting staff on their grievances, professional development, and progress with the firm 13) Participate in updating the Firm's Quality Control Document and practice development efforts 14) Promote the most efficient operations of the firm and support compliance guidelines in managing others 15) Participate in various committees, offer opinions and insight to better improve the firm’s operation and profitability 16) Perform other duties as assigned by the Managing Partner Supervisory Responsibilities: 17) Oversee development, coaching and training of all Audit employees 18) Maintain knowledge of qualifications of all A&A staff members for the development and instruction of their training needs 19) Participate in reviews, compensation and evaluations of accounting professionals |
| Requirements |
1) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting 2) 10 – 15 years of experience in public accounting with a proven progression in complexity, scope, and number of engagements managed 3) Current and valid CPA’s license is required 4) Knowledge of Accounting laws, regulations, in both audit and tax 5) Minimum 40 hours of continuing professional education to maintain and develop technical and business skills 6) Proficient in computers, audit research, and financials as well as audit software programs 7) Ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm 8) Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines, and to complete work in an efficient and accurate manner 9) Ability to reason and effectively multi-task 10) Outstanding oral and written communication skills 11) Excellent interpersonal skills 12) Ability to respect and embrace diversity and to look to build a one-firm team spirit among staff |
