| Responsibilities |
1) Participate in the strategic growth of this company by assuming a leadership role in managing all financial aspects of rig build program 2) Report project spend-to-date against budget, actual and forecast 3) Provide analysis of those results to Project Team lead and Corporate Controller on a global basis 4) Work closely with purchasing and accounts payable to establish procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting 5) Track project costs to ensure cost overruns do not occur without proper authorization 6) Ensure all project costs are recovered from third parties as required 7) Review contractual relationships with suppliers to ensure timely payments, delivery dates, deliverables, etc. 8) Assist in implementing sales tax planning strategies and ensure legal documents and bills of lading are accurately completed 9) Implement internal process to forecast required cash expenditures on rig builds and communicate requirements to Corporate Treasury Group 10) Assist in identifying foreign currency requirements of rig builds and participate in implementation of appropriate hedging strategies 11) Ensure adequate insurance maintained during rig build process through to delivery of rig 12) Handle monthly reconciliation of corporate office general ledger accounts associated with projects and related accruals 13) Liaise with Operations on status of projects from commencement to completion 14) Provide assistance where required to ensure accurate cost controls 15) Assist with annual budget preparation and quarterly forecasting 16) Ensure company policies are being followed for all projects, including preparation of Authorization-for-Expenditures (AFE) 17) Review global AFE submissions and consolidation of submitted AFE reports from all divisions 18) Monitor and report global AFEs to senior management and Board of Directors 19) Assist accounts payable and purchasing when required to ensure project costs are accurately reflected in the general ledger |
| Requirements |
1) CGA or CMA designation 2) 5 years of experience in full cycle accounting 3) Proficient with MS Excel and familiar with computerized accounting programs (Oracle an asset) 4) Previous Oracle Project Costing/General Ledger experience a plus 5) Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact confidently with senior management 6) Strong analytical skills and detail oriented individual 7) Ability to work with minimal supervision and a strong team focus |
