Salary Reports to

Responsibilities
1) Manages the Operation of company's Western Regional Transportation Division in a manner which promotes maximum productivity, safety, and efficiency of all employees and company assets, with an unmatched commitment to customer service and satisfaction
2) Manages employees directly and through subordinate first line managers
3) Manages the operation of multiple truck terminals located in the Western Region to maximize efficient utilization of company assets and personnel. Plans and directs the activities of personnel within the region
4) Prepares and manages the Western Region budget. Interacts with various vendors to purchase and maintain company assets
5) Ensures that regional personnel provide outstanding excellence in customer service. Addresses all customer service issues promptly and effectively. Manages the department personnel through site supervision to ensure compliance with all company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations
6) Works in cooperation with other managers within Transportation to insure maximum performance of asset base
Requirements
1) BA Degree and 3-5 years related experience demonstrating a substantial breadth of knowledge within the trucking industry. Must have the proven ability to manage multiple truck terminals and a diverse workforce
2) Must have experience working within advanced mathematics and statistics to calculate and interpret complex data or develop forecasts and computer models. Working knowledge of computer software to include MS Word, Excel and Power Point to process data for word processing, spreadsheets or graphics. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, financial reports, and legal documents
3) Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with multiple departments in completing projects in a fast paced environment to coordinate activities and arrive at mutual decisions. Ability to compose written letters, memos and management reports in a clear and concise manner. Ability to effectively listen to the needs of others, respond to needs and be able to effectively communicate in a courteous and professional manner providing a high level of customer service by answering questions, providing accurate information, and responding to request on a timely basis
4) Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously. Ability to identify, define and solve problems. Ability to develop new ideas and approaches for the creation of new methods, systems, policies and/or services
5) Must be able to plan and schedule activities over a period of a year or longer and provide regular review and analysis of events to maintain the momentum of the planning process and to ensure ongoing organizational commitment and implementation
6) Ability to maintain confidentiality
7) Proven ability to supervise the work of others, establishing work goals, allocating resources, conducting performance appraisals and recommending personnel actions
