| Responsibilities |
1) Work closely with engineering project managers and/or project engineers in support of project development 2) Help in technical due diligence and project engineering /project management support 3) Work within an interdisciplinary project team(s), comprised of engineers, environmental scientists, plant asset and operations managers 4) Work with financial and market analysts, project and business development professionals to review designs and resolve areas of concern 5) Develop power plant process conceptual design as well as heat and material balances 6) Develop preliminary design for budgetary proposals, screening studies, 7) Work on plant performance modeling and prediction 8) Interface with technology and major equipment suppliers 9) Review and participate in piping and instrument diagram development, safety reviews and process development 10) Develop plant capital cost estimates, O&M cost estimates and project schedules 11) Work with financial and market analysts to provide technical inputs for project economic proformas 12) Perform special studies or analyses involving review, research calculation, selection, etc. and develop required reports 13) Develop alternate methods, techniques or design concepts as required to resolve unique design problems 14) Lead and direct engineering work performed outside at A&E firms and acceptance testing 15) Manage outside engineering and design, construction and start-up in support of both existing and new power generation facilities 16) Provide technical supervision and coordination of project engineering work 17) Monitor progress against project schedules and budgets through project coordination meetings and other means 18) Recommend allocation of resources as required to accomplish goals 19) Oversee multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities 20) Be dependable and reliable |
| Requirements |
1) BS in one of the major engineering disciplines from an accredited institution 2) Minimum 3 – 10 years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility 3) Prior experience of related power industry 4) Knowledge of various power generation technologies including natural gas fired combined cycle, new advanced clean coal technologies and renewable energy a plus 5) Experience in MS Office software and specialized engineering programs 6) Good understanding of rules, regulations and standards that impact the power industry 7) Knowledge of design and execution of projects 8) Individual devoted to personnel as well as facility safety 9) Excellent communication, interpersonal, motivational and organizational skills 10) Ability to lead a team as well as be an expert individual performer 11) Willingness to travel (primarily domestic with possible international travel) |
