They operate 19 power generation plants in Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia with a combined capacity of approximately 4,885 megawatts. Position Location Intermediate Civil Engineer Alberta Salary Reports to Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Lead Civil Engineer Responsibilities 1) Provide engineering support to company’s fleet of generating stations 2) Work with power station staff and other discipline engineers to troubleshoot problems and develop solutions 3) Develop proposals and business cases for capital improvements 4) Plan, design and prepare contract documents for civil projects 5) Support and manage major maintenance and/or construction project activities 6) Manage the work of independent contractors to ensure outcomes are consistent with contract requirements 7) Undertake performance and condition assessments 8) Support the development of engineering standards and practices Requirements 1) BS in Civil/Structural Engineering 2) Post graduation in structural courses an advantage 3) Registration with APEGGA as a Professional Engineer, or eligibility for registration. 4) Minimum 6 years of experience since graduation (experience in power stations, large industrial facilities or refineries preferred) 5) Experience at an advanced level in the design and construction of civil structures and site services for industrial projects 6) Hydro-electrical project experiences an asset. 7) Proven, successful project management experience 8) Ability to plan, organize and implement activities successfully 9) Well-developed interpersonal skills and proven leadership abilities in a multi-discipline team environment 10) Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills 11) Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
