| Responsibilities |
1) Provide project-related management for multiple large utility construction projects 2) Serve the telecommunications, gas, water, industrial, power and general construction markets in eastern USA 3) Handle all aspects of a project's success from the initial bidding process through the profitable execution of the job 4) Provide direct support to other functional project teams in the planning and execution of the job 5) Resolve issues, manage resources, coordinate projects, interface with client representatives regarding the projects progress 6) Oversee project accounting, training, mentoring and coaching 7) Manage overall project performance (scope, safety, quality, schedule, innovation, cost, and customer satisfaction) 8) Serve as single-point of contact, establishing, maintaining and managing customer, sub contractor and joint venture partner (where applicable) expectations regarding overall project performance 9) Report project status and performance data as required to management and stakeholders 10) Ensure compliance with the company’s established Project Management Methodology (PMM) 11) Plan, monitor and controls the project throughout its lifecycle 12) Be involved in a single project, with a value from $25M to $100M or several smaller projects 13) Mentor others in the company’s Project Management Methodology (PMM Train/teach PMM to Operations personnel 14) Assist in the development and continuous improvement of PMM 15) Act as project sponsor for large projects 16) Assist in the marketing and business development activities as required |
| Requirements |
1) BS in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related profession 2) 15+ years of relevant utility construction and project management experience 3) Experience in construction operations, power transmission/distribution design, financial acumen and team-based management 4) Substantial knowledge and experience in the power industry a plus 5) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred 6) Advanced knowledge and experience in construction industry Project Management Methodology 7) Thorough understanding of utility industry practices, operations, contract administration, contract management, and standards, with emphasis on power utility business 8) Strong interpersonal, leadership and writing skills 9) Ability to work with minimum supervision 10) Proficient understanding of CPM scheduling and software applications (Primavera, MS Project) 11) Substation experience in power transmission and distribution projects a plus 12) Ability to work in an office setting as well as on active construction sites 13) Willingness to travel as well as ability for long-term commitment on site assignments |
