About our client

Position Location
Environmental Engineer/Manager Tennessee
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Corporate Director, Environmental Affairs
Responsibilities
1) Manage environmental programs and regulatory reporting requirements to ensure that company plants are in compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures
2) Perform regulatory environmental compliance audits of selected plants and facilities
3) Develop, prepare and revise material safety data sheets (MSDS) for the company products requiring such documents
4) Develop and implement environmental procedures to reduce or eliminate the current and future environmental liabilities associated with company operations
5) Achieve improvement in skills/awareness on environmental matters for all employees with duties in this area through multiple-level training and awareness programs
6) Monitor and evaluate the federal and state environmental regulations and select those which are pertinent to company operations
7) Make recommendations to Corporate Environmental Director to ensure compliance
8) Serve as key MSDS resource on the company products in responding to customer inquiries or complaints
9) Work closely with the Corporate Director of Environmental Affairs relative to any complex environmental compliance issues requiring special attention
10) Maintain current files of all environmental related plant activities and complaints, reporting to governmental agencies and Corporate Environmental Affairs
11) Assist company plants on environmental related inspection audits by any governmental agencies and communicate findings with Corporate Environmental Affairs
12) Interface with outside environmental consultants and contractors (as needed) relative to site environmental projects
Requirements
1) BS in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field
2) Minimum 5 years of direct environmental affairs or compliance experience in consulting, governmental or industrial capacity
3) Experience in regulatory compliance audits of selected plants and facilities
