| Responsibilities |
1) Schedule, coordinate and oversee multiple engineering projects including the owner’s engineer, EPC power plant contractors, pipeline engineers, etc. 2) Manage the day-to-day engineering efforts on all projects as well as review/approve all engineering drawings and specification, etc. 3) Assist the development engineers to acquire the technical information required to negotiate EPC contracts, PPAs, electrical interconnection agreements and other technical contracts 4) Manage the day-to-day scope of work of the owner’s engineer and other project contractors and consultants 5) Oversee the day-to-day engineering and procurement efforts of the EPC contractors for the power plant, pipeline and transmission lines for all geothermal projects 6) Identify and manage appropriate consultants to provide a thorough review of all project drawings and specifications 7) Assist the Manager of Construction to oversee compliance to the EPC contract, permits and other project agreements 8) Identify and coordinate the hiring of specialty consultants (metallurgy, turbine design, inspectors, etc.) and manage their work 9) Negotiate changes in engineering and procurement scope of work as well as assist the Manager of Construction with construction change orders 10) Coordinate the witnessing of shop and field tests and coordinate the inspections of power plant equipment 11) Assist with the coordination and assembly of the information requests from the bank’s engineer 12) Manage the review for approval of the owner’s engineer, EPC contractor and consultant progress payments 13) Provide progress reports to upper management 14) Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve plant performance and streamline the overall project development schedules and lead the team in implementing such measures 15) Manage the engineering efforts for plant modifications, expansions and provide support to the Manager of O&M with major equipment overhauls 16) Assist with the preparation and adherence of project budgets and schedules 17) Identify and coordinate the hiring of specialty consultants and manage their work |
| Requirements |
1) BS in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent with P.Eng. license 2) Minimum 10 – 15 years of power plant design and engineering experience with at least 5 years of experience in geothermal power plant design 3) Experience in operation of geothermal power plants 4) Experience in definition, procurement, fabrication and delivery of all of the equipment and components needed to construct a geothermal power plant 5) Knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations 6) Strong problem-solving, communication and people skills 7) Excellent computer skills as well as working knowledge of software used in the day-to-day business operation 8) Ability to schedule, manage and complete work efforts of consultants and contractors, on time and under budget 9) Ability to manage multi-discipline engineering, procurement and construction workforces 10) Ability to multitask and prepare detailed business reports 11) Ability to analyze complex data, information as well as statistical and financial data 12) Ability to perform the physical labor as necessary 13) Self starter with attention to detail, fine print and complicated language |
