About our client
Our client is a leader in geothermal energy projects.
Position Location
Development Engineer Nevada
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management
Responsibilities
1) Act as a lead in negotiating the technical sections and provisions in all major project contracts and agreements including power purchase agreements, transmission service agreements, etc.
2) Work closely with the VP of Project Development and company’s Legal Department to develop and negotiate the technical provisions in all major project contracts and agreements including PPAs, TSAs, LGIAs, EPC contracts and project financing agreements
3) Negotiate the technical provisions of the major project contracts striving for a win/win situation while protecting company’s downside concerns and maximizing company potential
4) Coordinate with the Senior Engineer to acquire the technical information required to negotiate all major contracts and agreements
5) Provide progress reports to upper management
Requirements
1) BS in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent with P.Eng. license
2) Minimum 10 – 15 years of power plant engineering and construction experience (geothermal or other renewable energy)
3) Minimum 5 years of experience in negotiating major contracts for the development of power plant projects
4) Expertise in selling power and renewable energy credits on the open market
5) Knowledge of Nevada and California utility requirements/concerns negotiating with independent power producers
6) In-depth knowledge of ISO requirements (particularly Nevada and California)
7) Knowledge of power plant O&M requirements including scheduling, dispatching energy, metering, maintenance and outage planning
8) Strong negotiation, problem-solving, communication and people skills
9) Proficient in computers
10) Ability to multi-task and prepare detailed business reports
11) Ability to analyze complex data, information and statistical/financial data
12) Ability to perform the physical labor if necessary
13) Self starter with attention to detail, fine print and complicated language
