About our client
Our client is a leading manufacturer of marine-based health and natural food products and a major supplier of seafood products. The company is also an innovator and supplier of finest quality marine-based natural ingredients to global dietary supplements and functional food markets.
Position Location
Senior Food Scientist Nova Scotia
Salary Reports to
Commensurate with experience Director of Functional Foods
Responsibilities
1) Converse with R&D departments of major food companies
2) Work both in team environment and in supervision of others
3) Develop novel delivery systems for incorporation of nutrients into foods
Requirements
1) Strong understanding of food chemistry
2) Aptitude for innovation
3) Excellent written and verbal communications skills
4) Experience in designing and implementing sensory analysis of ingredients and food products, and developing functional food prototypes incorporating novel ingredient
5) Understanding of edible oils and lipid chemistry
6) Experience with providing scientific support to customers and sales teams
7) PhD is a must
