About our client
Our client is a major producer of whey, cheese and dry whey concentrate. The company is a subsidiary of a premier farmer-owned co-operative that does business through out North America and in 50 countries across the world.
Position Location
Production Supervisor California
Salary Reports to
Commensurate with experience Production Manager
Responsibilities
1) Understand and follow GMPs
2) Report any unsafe working conditions
3) Liaise with employees, visitors and vendors
4) Comply with all quality systems and regulatory requirements
5) Plan and schedule daily operations of plant to make most efficient and effective use of personnel and equipment in producing desired quality and quantity of products
6) Recommend changes to manufacturing procedures when necessary to maintain product specifications, minimize waste, improve efficiencies and reduce operating costs
7) Maintain neat, orderly and clean plant facilities, work areas and equipment to conform with quality and sanitary standards
8) Coordinate with Plant Manager to conduct employee performance evaluations in timely manner
9) Coach employees and conduct disciplinary interviews as needed
Requirements
1) Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Manufacturing, Dairy Science, Food Science or Business Management preferred
2) Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise, direct and work with people and develop teamwork
3) Self-motivated and a self–starter
4) Experience in cheese production preferred
5) Good interpersonal communication skills
