About our client
Our client is a leading producer and distributor of bakery products with a presence in four continents and 25,000 employees worldwide. The company is best known for its high quality frozen partially baked or “par-baked” products, fresh pasta and sauces.
Position Location
Production Manager New Brunswick
Salary Reports to
Commensurate with experience Plant Manager
Responsibilities
1) Supervise and direct employees to develop and implement modern manufacturing techniques such as continuous improvement, 5S, Six Sigma, TQM, TPS and lean manufacturing
2) Provide strategic direction for departments within the facility
3) Coordinate people, processes and activities to maximize profit
4) Provide positive, direct customer interaction throughout all stages of production
5) Ensure projects are completed in a timely and profitable manner
6) Maintain and continuously improve high level of safety, employee relations, and quality control
7) Manage safe, cost effective and efficient production
8) Ensure compliance with all HACCP procedures
9) Maintain positive union and employee relations’ environment and implement the collective agreement
10) Ensure employee appraisals are carried out for all plant employees
11) Initiate corrective action with applicable management team members
12) Plan departmental skill development training for production staff
13) Conduct internal quality systems audits as required
14) Determine short and long term labor requirements
15) Control and monitor overtime distribution
16) Take lead role in staff recruiting and hiring
17) Prepare and achieve departmental budget
18) Conduct daily communication meetings with all key personnel throughout plant
Requirements
1) Diploma preferred
2) Knowledge of cakes and cookies
3) Fluency in English and French
4) 5 years’ management experience preferably in unionized environment
5) 7-25 years’ experience
