About our client
Our client is an internationally recognized producer of fresh and frozen bakery products. Founded more than a century ago, the company is presently one of North America’s largest food processing and distribution groups.
Position Location
Warehouse Supervisor Ontario
Salary Reports to
Commensurate with experience Warehouse Manager
Responsibilities
1) Provide assistance in scheduling, forecasting changes and resolving manpower issues
2) Check throughout shift to ensure proper methods and procedures are being used, and quality and safety standards are being met
3) Co-ordinate and communicate with Transportation department to manage inbound and outbound shipment
4) Ensure all products are received through reconciliation and pro-rate shortages with customers left to ship
5) Prepare daily shift reports to provide accurate overview of activities, hours and exceptions for team members
6) Provide orientation and training as required to ensure effective and efficient work force
7) Ensure safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing company standards and following up on regular inspections
8) Ensure provisions of collective bargaining agreement are understood and adhered to
Requirements
1) High school diploma or equivalent
2) Minimum 3 years’ progressive experience in warehouse supervision, preferably in perishable products
3) Good organizational and multi-tasking skills
4) Supervisory experience in unionized setup
5) Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
6) Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
7) Flexibility to working afternoons, evenings and weekends
8) Food experience
