About our client
Our client is a full range manufacturer of custom and private label bakery and savoury products. The company prides itself in producing the most extraordinary and creative foods for both retail and foodservice channels.
Position Location
Food Protection and Sanitation Manager California
Salary Reports to
Commensurate with experience Vice President, Quality
Responsibilities
1) Maintain exceptional level of sanitation in plant and drive food safety efforts
2) Manage sanitation department and plant-wide food safety, and personnel practices
3) Develop and manage HACCP, sanitation, pest management, GMP and food safety procedures and policies in accord with regulatory and company quality systems requirements
4) Develop cleaning techniques and provide training to sanitation and operations staff on these procedures
5) Conduct training in HACCP, GMPs and Food Safety for the general workforce
6) Develop, implement, monitor and review Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)
7) Assure internal and external inspections are conducted and proper corrective action is taken, as needed
8) Develop partnership with quality, operations, maintenance and R&D in order to meet company’s objectives
9) Enforce all company policies and procedures
10) Prepare reports/documentation relative to sanitation operations, as required
11) Manage sanitation and pest control inventory of chemicals and tools
12) Assist in other technical duties necessary to optimize current sanitation processes at direction of senior management
13) Support recovery program team and assure readiness via mock recall program
14) Assist in development and management of department budget and assure department meets budget goals and quarterly projections
15) Handle contracting and management of outside services, as needed
16) Maintain appropriate communication within area of responsibility
17) Keep company informed as to plans and progress
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) mandatory
2) Must speak Spanish
3) Training in food safety, HACCP & microbiology
4) Supervisory background
5) Food safety and sanitation experience in USDA facility
6) 5 years’ experience preferred
