Responsibilities
1) Develop and manage implementation of purchasing plans to provide efficient, cost effective procurement of major ingredients/commodity items 2) Support all locations by directing uninterrupted flow of ingredients, materials, supplies and services 3) Provide purchasing expertise for R&D 4) Assist in developing and implementing supplier development programs 5) Communicate goals and needs, select primary suppliers and evaluate supplier performance and partner relationships on continuous basis 6) Generate reports and forecasts to assist managers in short-range and long-range planning 7) Evaluate and upgrade purchasing systems and functions
Requirements
1) Minimum 5-25 years’ experience preferred 2) 5+ years in food industry purchasing/procurement management experience 3) Food experience in meat preferred, but not critical 4) Experience in purchasing raw materials, ingredients, boxes and packaging preferred
