Production Manager
Responsibilities
1) Analyze work orders to estimate workers’ hours and create machine schedules that meet both internal and external needs 2) Compare batch weight to production requirements to ensure meeting the required case counts 3) Compute amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules and requisitions materials from storage area 4) Ensure that all materials are returned to the storage area and all paperwork is completed after completing a product 5) Interface with other departments to ensure customer deadlines are met 6) Build a strong relationship with the USDA Inspector 7) Inspect and measure parts and products to verify conformance to specifications 8) Direct workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products that fail to meet standards 9) Establish work procedures to meet production schedules and assist workers in solving work problems 10) Maintain time and production records 11) Manage interviewing, hiring, and training employees
Requirements
1) Diploma (2 year) mandatory 2) Minimum 7-20 years’ experience 3) Experience in leading up to 90 employees 4) USDA experience with both manual and automated production 5) Willingness to work in the first shift (5 am) 6) Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 7) Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists 8) Excellent mathematical skills
