About our client
Our client is a leading supplier of bakery ingredient & services to the baking industry for production of upscale artisan breads, grain breads & flavor-enhanced products. The company has been in operation for more than a century.
Position Location
Food Technologist East, Southeast, Midwest - USA
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management
Responsibilities
1) Provide formulation leadership for new product and reformulation initiatives
2) Provide formulation technology training to R&D team
3) Complete product development projects (concept through commercialization) within the required timelines and specifications
4) Maintain all project related data as required
5) Provide ''scale up'' support to assure a successful transition to product commercialization
6) Lead R&D relationship with multiple accounts as assigned and be responsible for ongoing project deliverable, technical support, written reports, meeting attendance, status updates, etc.
7) Assess ongoing business related R&D initiatives with customer and take appropriate action to implement agreed upon objectives and to communicate with internal business partners
8) Solicit information regarding future product requirements with customers and share data with sales and marketing to collectively address future opportunities
9) Present innovative concepts and products for internal and external accounts on an ongoing basis
10) Initiate projects and leading and/or supporting cross-functional teams to the successful completion of those projects
11) Coordinate and conduct training for internal employees to support the launch of new products or the upgrading of older procedures
12) Collaborate with and provide technical leadership and/or support to Operations, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and QA in new product development and product maintenance activities like cost reductions, shelf stability studies, ingredient substitutions, etc.
13) Confer with R&D Director/Manager and customers as assigned to resolve product issues in a timely and professional manner
14) Prepare and present project proposals and project reports based on completed research
15) Provide training and support to technical services staff regarding Lab SOPs, informational logs/databases, PCVA process, cook cards, etc.
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) mandatory
2) Hands-on experience of baking ingredients and formulations
3) Strong knowledge of laboratory tests
4) Strong project development experience
5) Excellent interpersonal skills
