About our client
Our client is a privately owned seafood processor. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and employs over 300 people.
Position Location
Director of Quality Nearest Metro City: St. John, NB
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management
Responsibilities
1) Lead, direct, and manage the implementation and auditing of quality programs (GMPs, HACCP, master sanitation schedule, etc.)
2) Ensure divisional compliance with regulatory requirements related to product safety and quality
3) Direct and manage QC functions
4) Lead and direct food safety, regulatory, SOP, and master sanitation programs
5) Manage research laboratory
6) Work with plant and QC management
7) Determine proper staffing, training, and performance of QC personnel
8) Provide company leadership with regular and complete reports on all matters pertaining to quality issues and standards
9) Maintain professional working relationships with corporate and plant management, customers, and vendors
10) Exercise continuous leadership and improvement to focus divisional quality control efforts on priorities while ensuring attention towards safety, environmental, and health concerns
11) Ensure strict adherence to corporation and plant policies, rules, and regulatory compliance as well as the company’s quality policy
Requirements
1) Previous experience in a similar role with corporate responsibilities
2) Strong quality background with experience at a corporate level
3) Excellent leadership and communication skills
