About our client
Our client is a privately owned producer of fluid milk. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and has $2.5B in annual sales revenue.
Position Location
Production Manager Nearest Metro City: Springfield, MA
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management
Responsibilities
1) Direct manufacturing operations through a team of front-line supervisors
2) Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
3) Formulate, manage and achieve short- and long-term operating objectives for safety, quality, cost, efficiency improvements and overall customer service
4) Promote a culture of positive employee relations and continuous improvement
5) Manage all costs to exceed cost per gallon
6) Develop and implement plans to ensure appropriate volume of production for each product produced
7) Manage the plant budget and expenses to fall within or better than the plan
8) Provide leadership for effective employee relations through positive communication, coaching, training, problem resolution, etc.
9) Manage all plant variances to meet or exceed plan
10) Ensure that product quality meets or exceeds established standards
11) Manage the Supervision Team
12) Ensure that Supervision Team’s functional objectives are achieved and coach them towards improved performance as well as on working jointly
13) Work with direct reports to balance staffing, meet labor needs and manage plant headcount
14) Manage safety programs and procedures to exceed company goals on lost-time accidents and recordable injuries
Requirements
1) BA/BS in Operations, Business, Engineering, Food Technology or a related field
2) Minimum 7 years of experience in food production (dairy preferred) along with expertise in HTST and continuous improvement
3) Experience in cost reduction and production improvements as well as materials and inventory management
