About our client
Our client is a publicly owned food products manufacturer. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and has annual sales of over $100M.
Position Location
Plant Manager Nearest Metro city: Saskatoon, SK
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management
Responsibilities
1) Provide effective operations and make capital improvements to the operations
2) Act as a Team Leader at the plant for PSQE functions and support the Kaizen events in plant
3) Direct and develop staff
4) Ensure production unit’s compliance with company policies and procedures
5) Identify process and equipment improvements to increase production, reduce costs, improve yields, and improve quality
6) Manage the quality and cost of production
7) Maintain and promote a safe work environment by adhering to company and local jurisdiction health and safety policies
8) Design, develop, and participate in the recommendation for capital as well as operating budgets
9) Ensure management philosophy is communicated down and employee concerns are communicated up
10) Initiate and participate in feasibility studies for operational improvements
11) Ensure employment equity guidelines are followed in hiring new employees
12) Provide leadership for good food security practices
13) Oversee and ensure that positive relations are maintained with the employee group
14) Ensure all employees are treated consistently and fairly
15) Perform special tasks (as required)
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) in Engineering or Diploma (2 year) preferred
2) Plant/operations/production management experience (food company)
3) Experience in continuous improvement with ability to plan for the future
