About our client
Our client is a privately owned supplier of beverages. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and has over $100M in annual sales.
Position Location
Regional Sales Manager Nearest Metro City: Toronto (GTA), ON
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management
Responsibilities
1) Deliver yearly sales and profit goals for the region through the assigned distributor network
2) Develop a written annual business plan for each distributor containing volume, distribution and performance objectives (by brand) as specified in individual distributor agreements
3) Incorporate visi-cooler program and company account standards as well as ensure each distributor has an annual business plan
4) Monitor each distributor’s results against the business plan (monthly and quarterly) with follow-up letters to distributors on quarterly reviews
5) Allocate 80% of time in field to visit distributor, retail network and c-store district managers
6) Make sure distributor visits include quarterly training, inventory control and monthly order review to ensure adequate distributor inventory
7) Identify key 80% volume contributors (c-stores) and begin visits to include business review, new product presentations and shelf program implementation
8) Develop/prepare sales presentation materials for distributor and retail accounts, utilizing computer equipment and skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc. and seek training (if needed)
9) Work regularly with distributor sales employees to train and monitor effectiveness
10) Develop and implement crew drive calendar with minimum standards to be agreed upon by Divisional Manager
11) Survey the trade regularly to monitor distributor execution with follow-up letters to distributors using available survey sheets
12) Develop and implement local co-op media plan, tied to volume and key retailer association
13) Dispatch survey sheets to the divisional Vice President on a weekly basis
14) Develop and implement visi-cooler program and establish a minimum target quantity (i.e.
per key Distributor)
15) Utilize current inventory of vans as per new van policy
16) Account for and supervise the use of company-owned vehicles and equipment
17) Recruit, train and develop employees (not limited to region)
18) Conduct scheduled regional meetings (with employees) to include training and territory review
19) Execute new product introductions and make sure all new products are presented to all distributors within 45 days of materials being made available
20) Ensure distributors introduce new products as well as mutually agree to launch and kick-off dates
21) Enroll distributor network to carry the company's portfolio that has been identified as viable
22) Stay within budgets for MDF, T&E, personnel, merchandising display, POS and other categories (as directed) based on annual sales projections and the Divisional Manager
23) Maintain a sufficient driving record related to the qualifying requirements of company's (auto) insurance and sustain employment
Requirements
1) Minimum 3 years of experience in selling to retail-chains (in Ontario)
2) Prior experience in sales (beverage)
3) Ability to lift cases or other company-related items (not limited to 50 lbs)
