Management
Responsibilities
1) Plan manpower requirements for the department on a daily/weekly basis
2) Achieve production volumes and take ownership for product quality/standards
and yields as well as efficiency targets 3) Direct employees in the Operation of Plant equipment to meet quality, efficiency and yield standards, HACCP, and sanitation procedures 4) Review all relevant control plans 5) Prepare production and progress reports along with ensuring regular maintenance of equipment 6) Maximize attendance and follow-up to reduce absenteeism by coaching 7) Conduct accident investigations and take disciplinary statements 8) Administer discipline in-line with the Plant’s Discipline Policy 9) Provide leadership by instilling team goals/objectives 10) Foster good staff relationships in order to gain commitment from hourly employees 11) Ensure machinery/equipment are safe and hourly employees are trained/qualified on machinery prior to working on them 12) Undertake steps to protect the health and safety of employees as per established safe work procedures, company policies, and applicable provincial legislation
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) preferred 2) Minimum 3 years of experience with expertise in a unionized environment 3) A team player with strong leadership skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
