| Responsibilities |
1) Audit, inform, and resolve with production management, product which does not comply with HACCP or other facility food safety guidelines 2) Conduct HACCP pre-shipment review when necessary 3) Inspect facilities and equipment for sanitation both visually & analytically - Pre operational, ongoing, and post-production 4) Monitor adherence to and work with production management to correct Good Manufacturing Practices and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures deficiencies 5) Monitor adherence to and coordinates the execution of the allergen program with production management 6) Work with USDA, FDA, and other regulatory agencies to ensure conformity to all federal/state/local regulations 7) Verify the implementation of the HACCP Plan and supporting food safety programs 8) Calculate and measures formulation requirements of products, including average, mean, standard deviation and range 9) Maintain supporting documentation for the HACCP Plan, supporting food safety programs, GMP’s and SSOP’s 10) Maintain spreadsheets and trends data relating to food safety and other related QA programs 11) Reviews HACCP records for compliance with HACCP Plan guidelines 12) Provide direction to production workers and Quality Assurance personnel relating to GMP’s, sanitation, and food safety 13) Collect and distributes data on product tests for review by operations, R&D and QA 14) Conduct Plant Improvement audits for facility up-keep 15) Supervise Food Technologists and Quality Assurance Technicians 16) Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager |
| Requirements |
1) Associate’s Degree or higher in Biology, Food Science, Chemistry, or related technical field 2) Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in the food industry 3) Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations including from a series of numbers, determine total average, range, high, low, median, and standard deviation 4) Excellent written and verbal communication skills 5) Effective problem prevention and solving skills 6) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications 7) Familiarity with raw product, RTE, and Kettle Product production processes 8) Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices 9) Basic knowledge of usage and calibration of scales, thermometers, small grinders and CEM fat analysis machines 10) Ability to identify different types and sources of contamination 11) Knowledge of USDA FSIS regulations and HACCP/SSOP principles and applications 12) HACCP certification (preferred) |
