About our client
Our client is a privately owned international industry leader, offering creative retail packaged foods and menu solutions. The company has been in operation for over 25 years with over 100 employees.
Position Location
Research & Development Supervisor Nearest Metro City: Norwood, MA
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Director of Research & Development
Responsibilities
1) Supervise R&D technologist and plant employees in production of R&D projects
2) Execute against new product and package design, formulation and development process
3) Ensure product formulations, specifications and implementation meets corporate and client requirements relative to cost, quality and consistency
4) Ensure new products and packaging are on time and executable
5) Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and packing methods, efficiency and productivity
6) Assist client’s technical staff with product design
7) Assist Quality and Production Teams with resolution of process control and product quality opportunities
8) Leverage involvement and technical expertise to improve facility health, safety and sanitation measures
9) Contribute to overall facility regulatory compliance
10) Perform other duties consistent with position
Requirements
1) Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Agriculture or similar discipline
2) 10 – 15 years prior experience in food formulation and processing (meat focus preferred)
3) Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
4) Awareness of related packaging technologies
5) Able to work in refrigerated production facility
6) Technical capability to work with R&D and Production equipment, e.g. grinders, mixers, slicers and extrusion equipment
7) Able to move and carry test kitchen lab equipment, test batch ingredients as well as lift up to 30 lbs
