| Responsibilities |
1) Determine and administer the execution and management of effective accounting policies and procedures for the company as per established corporate policies 2) Support plant operations through financial analysis 3) Oversee the maintenance of standard cost accounting system, including bills of material, variance reporting and analysis 4) Maintain and report fixed costs for manufacturing, warehousing and shipping, including variances from budgets, inventory reporting and analysis 5) Manage the on-going financial analysis in support of capital project approvals and reviews (e.g. capital justification, buy/lease, etc.) 6) Review customer deductions with a view to validate and collect from those in error
7) Monitor and review accounts receivable with attention to those accounts which
become slow paying and questionable 8) Determine and monitor the timetable for effective preparation of the annual budget, including follow-up and support for each input 9) Prepare budget for all salaries and wage fixed budgets, including the related benefits 10) Review all inputs to the budget for reasonableness and consistency with strategic direction and prior year accruals 11) Establish or recommend to management, the major corporate economic strategies, objectives and policies 12) Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting financial investments and plans 13) Establish financial reporting systems and controls to ensure accurate measurement of financial results and ensure sound internal controls 14) Provide management with reviews of organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities 15) Arrange for annual reviews of the company’s accounts 16) Oversee external audit planning and interface with the auditors as needed 17) Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies 18) Establish relations with banks and other financial institutions 19) Work to optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationship, and initiate needed strategies for improvement |
| Requirements |
1) Bachelor’s degree (4 year) in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (advanced degree a plus) 2) 8-10 years of progressive (finance/accounting) experience in a meat processing industry 3) 5 years of experience in general accounting and product costing in a meat manufacturing environment (strength in standard cost accounting) 4) Sound technical skills and experience in financial reporting, forecasting, modeling and analysis, cash flow management with a strong operational focus 5) Ability to work in a dynamic and diverse work environment 6) Excellent communication skills with an ability to interact professionally with all levels in the organization as well as external customers 7) Ability to communicate with senior, non-technical leadership as well as highly technical staff 8) Ability to manage multiple priorities |
