About our client
Our client is a privately owned food and beverage manufacturer. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and employs over 500+ people.
Position Location
Lab Manager Nearest Metro City: Grand Rapids, MI
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Director of Quality
Responsibilities
1) Complete product development projects (concept through commercialization) within the required timelines and specifications
2) Maintain and update all project-related data
3) Provide scale-up support to ensure successful transition to product commercialization
4) Lead research and development relationship with multiple accounts as assigned
5) Handle and oversee ongoing project deliverables, technical support, written reports, meeting attendance, status updates, etc.
6) Assess ongoing business-related research and development initiatives with customers
7) Take appropriate action to implement agreed-upon objectives
8) Communicate with internal business partners
9) Solicit information regarding future product requirements with customers and share data with sales and marketing to address future opportunities
10) Present innovative concepts and products for internal/external accounts on an ongoing basis
11) Coordinate and conduct training for internal employees to support the launch of new products or the upgrading of older procedures
12) Collaborate with and provide technical leadership/support to all departments concerned with new product development and product maintenance
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) in Microbiology
2) Minimum 5 years of experience in fruit or fruit juice
3) Experience in managing a microbiology and chemistry lab
4) Effective management experience – people and process
