| Responsibilities |
1) Assist management in recruitment and job placement activities of organization such as ad composition, recruitment, screening, scheduling, interviewing, offer letters and relocation for all job applicants 2) Counsel/advise management on all aspects of employee relations, such as hiring, promotion, disciplinary actions and termination 3) Ensure proper documentation is followed as well as any legal ramifications are considered 4) Support and implement HR functional initiatives and manage various programs at the location level 5) Answer employee questions regarding benefits such as group insurance, sick and vacation leave, 401(k), worker compensation and other benefits offered by the company 6) Travel to other facilities and direct local HR support, address issues and conduct training 7) Review all employee actions for the locations production workforce and ensure consistency, making recommendations/changes 8) Interview workers to gather information on worker attitudes toward work environment and supervision received to facilitate resolution of employee relations problems and recommend to management what possible actions can be taken 9) Implement and evaluate the organization's policies and procedures on recruitment, selection and job placement 10) Suggest and forward recommendations to management for improvement of organization's employment policies, procedures and practices 11) Develop/maintain job descriptions for existing and/or newly created positions 12) Recommend change to management as appropriate to retain and motivate employees 13) Ensure research/implementation of training policies, programs and schedules are based on knowledge of identified training needs, company production processes, business systems or changes in products, procedures or services for staff development 14) Investigate employee complaints, interviewing all parties involved and assist in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations 15) Utilize corporate legal counsel’s resources 16) Review and process unemployment compensation claims as well as attend hearings and advise supervisors and managers 17) Supervise the administration of local workers compensation program, periodically reviewing insurance carrier's reports to cut down on lost employee time and cut back on unjust claims 18) Assist/consult with Director of HR in writing/delivering presentations to corporate officers regarding human resources policies, practices and programs 19) Oversee the maintenance and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization 20) Manage all employee relations activities that include but are not limited to company picnic, service awards banquets, etc. 21) Participate in local community activities and organizations to promote the company 22) Assist/consult Director of HR with budget of HR operations 23) Participate in job fairs 24) Ensure supervisory tasks are carried out in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws 25) Manage interviewing, hiring and training of employees 26) Plan, assign and direct work, appraise performance, reward and ensure discipline of employees including addressing their complaints and resolving problems |
| Requirements |
1) Degree (4 year) in HR or a relevant field (PHR/SPHR preferred) 2) 7+ years of HR experience with 2 or more years as a manager or senior generalist 3) Experience in all facets or HR management including recruitment/staffing, issue resolution, legal compliance, performance management, compensation and benefits administration and safety program management 4) Willingness to travel (30% – 40%) in support of several manufacturing facilities |
