About our client
Our client is a publicly owned manufacturer of snacks and confectionery. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and has annual sales of over $1B.
Position Location
Food Safety Compliance Specialist Pennsylvania
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management
Responsibilities
1) Oversee the quality and safety of raw materials and finished products
2) Develop, implement and coordinate quality assurance, food safety and sanitation programs at the plant level
3) Prevent or eliminate defects in products
4) Meet/exceed the requirements of customers and regulatory agencies
5) Interact with customers, both internally and externally, on a continual basis
6) Establish, enhance and reinforce Quality Management System and support initiatives that are in place to ensure quality and food safety
7) Assist with the Quality Training Program for employees in the areas of customer expectations and quality systems Manage all documentation related to food safety and audit protocol
8) Oversee budgeting and spending activities in all QA-related accounts
9) Manage all associated activities involving customer complaints including problem identification and product isolation
10) Deliver feedback to appropriate team members and managers on all complaints affecting plant performance and customer satisfaction
11) Administer the local quality hold program including timely disposition of held product
12) Comply with company and customer specifications
13) Ensure laboratory efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
1) BS in Food Science, Microbiology or a related field
2) Minimum 7 years of experience and currently in a QA role
3) Experience in third party audits as well as implementing/maintaining a food safety program
4) Understanding of sanitation or pest control practices
5) Current knowledge of compliance and regulatory policies
