| Responsibilities |
1) Manage all packaging operations for labels, powders, pills, liquids and fruit items both automated and manual 2) Maintain all safety rules and SOPs in accordance with the company and external regulatory policies and rules 3) Act as back-up for the Manufacturing Manager and packaging supervisors during their absence 4) Oversee safety compliance in all manufacturing areas including training 5) Develop, track and maintain training program for all training including safety and SOP 6) Assist the Engineering Department in the selection, layout, and installation of new equipment in the packaging areas 7) Direct the activities of the packaging departments 8) Coordinate with the QA/QC departments to ensure compliance with all quality SOPs 9) Support the quality and technical departments with any audits (GMP certifications, organic certifications or audits by government regulatory agencies) 10) Maintain appropriate files for tracking batch and lot records 11) Track productivity and bonus number for all lines and employees in all packaging departments while meeting and exceeding efficiency standards 12) Support all customer experience KPIs 13) Maintain operating costs within all packaging cost center budgets 14) Comply with safety and GMP requirements 15) Support a culture of safe production and operation as well as follow all workplace health and safety procedures 16) Ensure that the health and safety requirements are met and adhere to it 17) Make sure that the activities to promote and enforce safe behavior by supervisors and employees are completed 18) Ensure the implementation of injury prevention efforts 19) Complete duties as outlined in the company safety management plan 20) Supervise the packaging supervisors and carry out supervisory duties in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws 21) Oversee the development, interviewing, hiring and training of employees 22) Handle planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding as well as disciplining employees 23) Address complaints and resolve problems as needed |
| Requirements |
1) Bachelor’s degree 2) 5 years of related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience 3) Experience in food packaging (supplement manufacturing experience preferred) 4) Strong communication, listening, decision-making and organizational skills 5) Proficient in computers as well as MS Word and Excel (Oracle OPM experience preferred) 6) Excellent leadership skills including coaching, team-building and training 7) Excellent time management and attention to detail 8) Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations 9) Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals 10) Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from company management and outside agencies 11) Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited instructions are available in written, oral, diagram or schedule form 12) Proficiency in Spanish preferred 13) Willingness to undertake physically demanding activities as needed |
