| Responsibilities |
1) Grow company’s shares by leveraging category information to position the company for sustainable, long-term growth 2) Act as a key resource and support person for the Canada Sales Team in the areas of category leadership, data analysis as well as reporting and delivery 3) Enhance the business with best-in-class category management practices that support company’s growth plans 4) Develop category management platform that provides a competitive advantage, yet simply to communicate and execute at all levels 5) Prepare and distribute analysis and sales presentations to help drive company’s expansion at key and emerging customers 6) Analyze monthly internal sales and retail customer data 7) Train and guide account teams to leverage category management as a tool to enhance company’s position in the market 8) Leverage company insights, best practices and experiences and apply where appropriate 9) Serve as primary data contact for initiatives that require cross functional coordination to address customer specific issues and opportunities 10) Manage relationship with data providers by clearly articulating company’s business needs and challenges to ensure data objectives and deliverables align 11) Work closely with sales and marketing teams to better understand business issues/programs and provide actionable data solutions 12) Create go-to-shelf strategy that maximizes our on-shelf presence and share growth 13) Serve as key communication link for all category related information, updates and projects 14) Recommend portfolio adjustments based on existing and/or changing needs, practical product shifts, white space growth opportunities, competitive erosion and the most effective routes to maximized volume and profits 15) Manage preparation, release and monthly update of category plans, working closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure and maintain timely and accurate plan information 16) Translate research project results and consumer insights into selling communications and recommendations 17) Assist in new product launches by developing customer presentations and results tracking 18) Provide company sales and executive management with a summary on health of the business and on sales opportunities 19) Perform other related duties as needed |
| Requirements |
1) 4-year degree (MBA a plus) 2) 5 years of sales/sales planning/category management experience in the Canadian food industry 3) 3 – 5 years of category management leadership experience including space planning and IRI/Nielsen syndicated data 4) Good understanding of marketing and financial objectives 5) Fluency in French and Italian a plus 6) Proficient in MS Office software 7) Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills 8) Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills 9) Ability to juggle several projects, bringing each from idea generation to completion 10) Willingness to travel (20%) |
