| Responsibilities |
1) Develop front end loading (FEL) package documents for all new products that are developed as a result of the innovation strategic initiative 2) Collaborate with R&D, operations business managers and respective business unit managers in the development of the FEL 3) Develop preliminary process flow diagrams, P&IDs, space allocation requirements and equipment layouts for the new product initiatives as necessary to develop high-level cost estimates 4) Work with manufacturing facilities and operations business managers to identify possible manufacturing locations (internal and external) 5) Develop preliminary high-level cost estimates for procurement, installation and startup of systems along with a preliminary project schedule and timeline for the project (project approval through to system startup) 6) Provide support to the respective manufacturing facilities and operations business managers in developing preliminary product cost estimates 7) Ensure a smooth and successful transition and handoff of the new product project to the respective corporate capital project engineer 8) Assist the Corporate Capital Project Engineer in the vender selection, competitive bidding process, developing performance warranties and factory acceptance tests (FATs) documents if needed 9) Provide needed assistance in the scale up process of pilot plant products to the manufacturing process 10) Provide strong proactive leadership in delivering new technology solutions for new and existing products 11) Work with R&D on advanced processing and packaging technology and techniques including prototype development 12) Provide engineering leadership to cross-functional product innovation teams and the Stage Gate (new product development) process 13) Work according to company mission, values, and code of ethics, policies and other standards of conduct |
| Requirements |
1) BS (or equivalent degree) in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or General Engineering 2) 10 years of related experience as well as expertise in product development, food processing and packaging systems 4) Working knowledge of USDA, FDA and OSHA
regulations 5) Strong technical problem-solving skills and proven project management experience 6) Proficient in computers (MS Office and AutoCAD) 7) Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills 8) Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional business unit relationships |
