About our client
Our client is a manufacturer of food and beverage products. The company has been in operation for more than 25 years and has more than 500 employees.
Position Location
Safety Manager Connecticut
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Plant Manager
Responsibilities
1) Lead the development and drive the implementation of the safety program to create an injury-free workplace
2) Communicate EHS expectations and status updates to all employees as well as ensure accountability at all levels
3) Coach, develop and motivate employees and managers on all EHS matters
4) Ensure effective inter-departmental communication on all EHS matters
5) Partner with line managers and supervisors on all safety incident investigations to identify and help implement new or improved processes and corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence
6) Track safety measures, including visual charts; provide regular progress reports to management
7) Manage adherence to programs and policies outlined by the company, OSHA and other agencies
8) Plan and deliver safety activities in alignment with all business objectives
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) preferred along with HACCP certification
2) Minimum 3 years of experience in quality and traceability along with experience in a similar role
3) Experience in FDA, AIB and BRC audits as well as food defense
4) Expertise in leadership, training and mentoring
