| Responsibilities |
1) Provide leadership and direction for company’s Coffee Business Unit quality organization coordinating the supply chain’s multi-site quality program 2) Establish goals, priorities, standards, processes, resource assignments and tools used in recording and reporting performance 3) Oversee the improvement, issue resolution as well as the quality of materials and finished goods 4) Work collaboratively with the QA and production teams of the several production units 5) Oversee supply chain’s success toward key performance indicators such as product quality, third party audit scores, defects and other measures of quality employed 6) Plan and develop resources to evaluate and deploy improved policies, processes, technologies, controls and reporting that guides quality progress 7) Design and deploy quality systems to ensure meeting/exceeding customer expectations and yield value to the company 8) Coach and support the QA of each of the production units 9) Analyze and report to senior management on quality performance 10) Sponsor the standardization project and manage the Quality Documentation Specialist’s work on accumulating, organizing as well as standardizing product specifications 11) Chair the Quality Management System Team, the Multi-Site Support HACCP Team and food safety and food defense teams 12) Sponsor and direct multi-site training in food safety, food defense, quality, and good manufacturing practices 13) Monitor key supplier performance metrics including quality, measured as conformance to specifications 14) Identify priority opportunities for the continuous process improvement teams to develop and implement improved processes, tools and standards 15) Clearly define the voice of the customer (VOC) and published product descriptions into objective and measurable quality criteria to inform appropriate process specifications that are auditable 16) Inspire organizational motivation by encouraging and rewarding commitment, creativity, enjoyment, fulfillment and recognition critical to the company’s ability to improve and sustain quality 17) Educate and train staff, suppliers and customers in standards, processes and skills fundamental to quality 18) Develop and evaluate effectiveness of systems for sampling, testing, analysis and reporting on production status and trends and evaluate alternative innovations 19) Administer the execution of plans, programs and projects central to the job function, including communication and personnel management activities 20) Act as a resource for Sales, Marketing and Customer Service for product information, sales presentations, responses to claims or request-for-quotes and answers to quality and organizational issues 21) Mentor and train (as needed) to increase the general product knowledge of company personnel 22) Conduct primary and secondary research on coffee and coffee processing to support standards and process improvements 23) Follow all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by company and the department 24) Perform other duties as requested by management 25) Serve as a spokesperson for the company to trade, media and other groups as an industry expert and a representative of company’s principles and capabilities |
| Requirements |
1) BS in a related field (advanced degree preferred) 2) CQM or CMQOE along with HACCP certification preferred 3) 7+ years in quality management with demonstrated record of achievement and advancement as well as food/beverage background 4) Multi-site experience (at least 3 sites) as well as expertise in ISO 22000 and SQF as well as thorough understanding of quality management systems 5) Experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and ISO 9000 standards a plus 6) Strong analytical skills and ability to design of experiments (DOE), analysis of variance (ANOVA), SPC deployment and use of quality tools 7) Excellent communication and facilitation skills 8) Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) 9) Ability to lead and participate in cross functional teams with along with multi-site quality management experience 10) Ability to uphold safety standards, participate in continuous process improvement on the job and follow our Manufacturing best practices 11) Willingness to travel and work flexible hours |
