Technical Director |
| Responsibilities |
1) Define specific requirements for new and
existing ingredients and packaging by working closely with the Product
Development, Purchasing, Packaging, Quality Assurance, Government Affairs and
Vendors
2) Conduct audits of vendors that supply ingredients and packaging materials to
the Company and identify improvement opportunities
3) Approve new or alternate vendors for ingredients and packaging based upon the
company vendor requirements as defined in vendor specific procedures and
specifications
4) Develop/ Utilize functional tools to improve assessment and monitoring of
vendor performance
5) Monitor and report on effectiveness, and timing of corrective actions
6) Ensure suppliers implement problem resolution and continuous improvement
7) Follow up and verify closure of outstanding audit findings
8) Ensure complete, current and accurate documentation on file for each supplier
9) Assist with third party audits as required
10) Prepare new ingredient specification documentation as required and obtains
internal technical and procurement approval as well as the ingredient supplier’s
written acceptance and approval of the same
11) Work closely with procurement to obtain samples and manage the ingredient
R&D sample inventories
12) Work closely with the procurement HNA purchasing group to define
requirements for common HNA ingredients and act as HCAN technical liaison with
this group
13) Maintain and protect process security and accuracy through the release of
controlled documents
14) Work regularly with confidential recipes, and processes for Leamington
operations, co-packer factories and affiliates |
| Requirements |
1) Diploma (2 year)
2) Minimum 3 years of experience in an auditing role
3) Experience in FSEP, CVS and HACCP as well as CQA auditing and training
4) Knowledge of the Food Regulations in Canada with respect to the Canadian Food
& Drug Act and Consumer Packaging & Labeling Act & Regulations
5) Experience in Quality and food manufacturing
6) Excellent communication and leadership skills
7) Analytical and problem solving skills
8) Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, SAP
9) Organizational and problem-solving decision-making skills
10) Willingness to travel extensively |
