About our client
Our client is a privately owned food and beverage company. They have been in operation for more than 25 years with annual sales revenue of over $25M.
Position Location
Front Line Manager/Shipper Receiver Ontario
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management
Responsibilities
1) Lead unionized production employees (approximately 60 – 70 employees per shift) to deliver on objectives
2) Oversee 2 – 3 production lines running simultaneously along with packaging lines
3) Manage the completion of paperwork, administration of production schedule and computerized time card system
4) Uphold all company polices and procedures
5) Demonstrate effective employee relation skills and strong knowledge of current collective agreement to ensure its proper administration
6) Work together as a team with the other managers to ensure proper communication across shifts, as well as all other operation team members and all other various support functions and management personnel
7) Use knowledge and expertise to offer conventional as well as alternative solutions whenever an issue arises
8) Assist with Health and Safety meetings
9) Function as change agent working towards the creation of a more positive work environment
Requirements
1) Degree (4 year) in Engineering, Business or Science
2) Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in food manufacturing as well as prior experience in a unionized environment
3) Understanding of GMP, HACCP as well as knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and WSIB
4) Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
5) Good computer skills and ability to multi task
6) Excellent managerial skills with an emphasis on creative problem solving, supportive communication and stress management
7) Willingness to work a combination of days and afternoons in up to 3 plants close to each other
