About our client
Our client is a publicly owned manufacturer of meat products. They have been in operation for more than 25 years with over 1000 employees.
Position Location
Sales Manager Tennessee
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience General Manager
Responsibilities
1) Oversee the growth and development of the company distribution business in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama markets
2) Oversee the growth and profitability for the poultry product category
3) Handle vendor selection, purchasing, inventory/position management and pricing and creating marketing programs based on customer needs
4) Generate sales for the food service distribution accounts and be accountable for growth and profitability of this business
5) Manage the hiring and training of sales staff (4 – 6 DSRs) to reach sales and corporate goals
6) Oversee direct sales and development of chain restaurant business
Requirements
1) BS or equivalent experience
2) 5 – 7 years of experience in the poultry industry with knowledge of fresh, frozen and value added poultry products
3) 2 – 5 years of experience in managing a sales account managers
4) Experience in dealing with foodservice accounts, independent restaurants, chains and institutions
5) Proficiency in MS Office as well as strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
6) Ability to exercise strong judgment in analyzing, appraising, evaluating and solving problems of a challenging nature
7) Result-oriented, competitive as well as a customer and team focused individual with a high level of integrity
