Position Location
Production Manager California
Salary Reports to
Commensurate with experience Plant Manager
Responsibilities
1) Handle budget planning and cost control
2) Implement process procedures as outlined by production orders and specifications
3) Assist in establishment of uniform process procedures throughout a given production run
4) Understand and monitor safe and efficient operation of all processing equipment including forklifts
5) Know all plant safety and sanitation policies and ensure staff adheres accordingly
6) Schedule personnel while controlling labor costs
7) Manage employee relations by ensuring open communications with work force
8) Ensure adherence to fair & impartial supervisory practices
9) Study problems/new processes & propose solutions, including capital budget considerations
10) Supervise all aseptic processes and procedures to ensure product quality
11) Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals including measurement and stretch goals
12) Serve on special project teams
13) Comply with established sanitation and safety policies and procedures
14) Interview, hire and train employees, plan, assign and direct work
15) Oversee performance appraisal, reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems
Requirements
1) Diploma (2 year) mandatory
2) Experience in hiring, interviewing, training, planning, conducting performance appraisals, etc.
3) Background in plant sanitation & safety, budget planning and cost control
4) Must have managed and supervised food manufacturing facility
5) Thorough knowledge of Key Performance Indicators
6) Minimum 7-30 years’ experience preferred
7) Current driver’s license
8) Certified in CPR and First Aid
9) Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
10) Ready to work any shift
