About our client
Our client is a building service designing company, looking to double in size over the next 2 years.
Position Location
Senior Electrical Designer Ontario
Salary Reports to
Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience Management
Responsibilities
1) Direct and supervise junior and intermediate designers within the team
2) Provide technical assistance to the Team Leader/Project Manager
3) Set up and maintain design (‘B’ file) file
4) Perform cable calculations
5) Carry out lighting modeling
6) Ensure that the company design checklist is followed
7) Review/prepare final motor list
8) Ensure that company AutoCAD standards are adhered to
9) Prepare or confirm all equipment selections using company selection procedures
10) Coordinate electrical and mechanical requirements with other disciplines involved in the Project Design Team (i.e. architects, structural consultants, code consultants, geotechnical consultants, etc.)
11) Attend project progress meetings
12) Coordinate or confirm service requirements/connections with the respective utility and/or municipal agencies
13) Provide updates for the Project Manager (including field reviews to monitor project construction status)
14) Attend field reviews/meetings with clients
15) Review/supervise drafting and prepare/review markups
16) Assist with fee proposal preparation
17) Maintain client relations
Requirements
1) BS in Electrical Engineering
2) P. Eng. license (A. Sc. T designation preferred)
3) 5 years of designing experience in LV, HV, control, and lighting systems
4) 2 years of AutoCad experience
5) Ability to read architectural, structural, and electrical drawings
6) Leed accredited professional with the ability to receive and execute instructions from the Project Manager/Team Leader (with minimal supervision)
7) Excellent communication skills
